The best way to eat oatmeal. This makes a hearty slice that’s great toasted and topped with butter, peanut butter, or a slice of cheese.
Add to food processor in this order & blend to mix after each addition:
3 cups oats (blend to a flour)
1 cup almonds (blend to a flour)
1/2 cup flax seed
1/4 cup chia seeds
2 3/4 cups water, 1/4 cup oil (I usually use coconut but anything will work), 1 banana
mix in chocolate chips, nuts, whatever you like.
Bake in a loaf pan at 400° for 1.5 hrs
*Alternatives*
-substitute dates for the banana (1 cup soaked, pitted dates)
-Add spices: 2 t cinnamon, 1 t turmeric, 1 t baking powder (makes them less dense)
– Bake in muffin tins (375 for 30 min) *fill the mixture to the top of each muffin, it will not rise very much*
